Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

We provide custom GIS solutions to a number of clients and various industries, from creating large forest resource inventories (FRI), to municipal GIS systems. The largest FRI we have automated is in excess of 45,000 sq. km. We hold approximately 15 licenses of various ESRI software and have been customizing and programming with this software since the company started. CREE TECH provides solutions by customizing existing GIS applications and developing new GIS tools. We intergrate multiple software elements to provide enhanced GIS capabilities that will meet the changing needs of the client. Global Positioning Systems

CREE TECH also provides highly accurate GPS services. We are able to capture various features including roads, community infrastructure, zoning, trail systems, bathymetric data etc. The features can be collected on foot, ATV, boat, snowmobile or vehicle. The coordinates can then be imported into our GIS system to create various planning, inventory and other types of digital and paper map products.

Software Development

CREE TECH currently has numerous custom applications in the forestry sector, many of which are used daily. These programs are supported by our staff and are frequently enhanced as the users discover the power of the applications and the output potential. Often, applications are customized to export specific data formats for import into other software programs. As technology is more apparent in todays world, we automate many functions that provide for better data management and results so corporations can carry out their tasks with high efficiency.

Map Publishing

Many orgranizations contact CREE TECH to produce custom maps for various purposes. We also have a series of maps that can be ordered in our product section of the website. We have access to several datasets to create the product you need. Most orders are printed inhouse as we are an HP certified Print Centre.

Forestry Consulting

CREE TECH provides professional forestry consulting services for the forest industry, Aboriginal groups and various levels of government. The services include the creation of forest inventories, inventory updating, timber cruise setup and compilation, wood supply analyses, and the preparation of area and volume tables. CREE TECH has also played key roles in the preparation and implementation of Forest Management Plans, including authorship, annual work schedules, annual reports, volumetric modeling, amendments and revisions, and auditing. The company has first hand working experience with forest planning legislation including the Forest Management Planning Manual, Forest Information Manual, and the Provincial Mapping Standards.

Bathymetric Charting

CREE TECH has been conducting extensive research and development in the field of bathymetric charting since 2000. We have the capapbiltity of creating new bathymetric charts of virtually any water system. We have developed accurate and efficient methodologies that use information from both GPS and ocean sonars to collect precise location and depth points. Thousands of points are collected on small lakes alone. All rock and shoal locations encountered during the survey are also collected. (Aerial photos are used to predetermine many of the hazards.) The information is then tranfered into our GIS and the appropriate maps are created.
